I remember all that activity.

During the day was even more lively. I recently saw a video by Harry Gamboa Jr. that has a lot of shots of downtown LA in the 80's as well and it was great. The yellow RTB buses! Wow.

At all times the arcades were always bumping. I remember seeing fights break out at the Gamepalace over losing a game of Asteroids.

Broadway could still have night life. I'm sure some politicos or the cops told the shop owners to close down early maybe when crack hit LA in 89-1990 and on. Then ofcourse many of the theaters closed and killed a lot of traffic.

It is all still there and ready to boom. Its just a matter of will and being open to the diversity. Right now it seems like the only biznesses kept open late serve the monied drinking hipsters or the dime a dance clients. Working class people could use some shops open late for shopping and places to be entertained as well, with their families.

Ofcourse they all have a Playstation or other game box at home.Pachuco 3000https://www.blogger.com/profile/17650790531408080300noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1569873997733580216.post-83893795523284208182008-06-26T00:24:00.000-07:002008-06-26T00:24:00.000-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Pachuco 3000https://www.blogger.com/profile/17650790531408080300noreply@blogger.com
